PH Stocks Nearing 6,200pts
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks continued their rally on Monday amid sustained investor confidence in the strong economic fundamentals of the country. The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) increased by 0.4% to 6,192.42 – less than eight points away from what would be a new record for the local bourse. The wider All-Shares index is also on the up, gaining 0.43% to close the first trading day of the week at 3,902.18.
All counters except for the Services index, which dropped by 0.55% from Friday, edged higher, led by the Industrials sector’s 1.46% increase. The Holding Firms segment gained 0.6%, while the Property, Financials, and Mining and Oil sectors managed to pull in gains within the 0.2 – 0.3%.
A total of 2.27 billion shares, valued at PhP9.06 billion, changed hands today. There were 101 advancers compared to 61 decliners, while 50 stocks remained flat.
