PH Stocks Falter, Down 0.39%
Manila–(PHStocks)–Local shares on the main board Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) slid 0.39% to close trading day Friday at 3,851.24 points, while the all-share index dropped 0.17% to 2,976.47 points.
On sectoral performance, only the Mining & Oil and Industrial indices posted slight growth, at 0.16% and 0.08%, respectively. The Property and Financials sectors, meanwhile, shed 0.83% and 0.62%, respectively.
Trading volume only reached about 834.66 million, valued at PhP3.1 billion. Losers outnumber gainers 64 to 57, while 45 stocks remain unchanged.
Vitarich Corp. (PSE: VITA) led the day’s gainers with a 22.22% increase in stock price to PhP0.44. Interport Resources Corp. (PSE: IRC), formerly involved in oil exploration activities but now focused on real estate development, closed the day with the second highest increase in stock price at 19.4% to PhP0.80. The Philippine Racing Club Inc. (PSE: PRC), meanwhile came in at third with a stock price growth of 16.36% (PhP6.40).
