PH Stocks Extend Declines
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks continued their decline Tuesday, 12 March, amid widespread profit taking. The mainboard Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index fell below the 6,800 level, closing today’s trading at 6,786.42, down by 0.4% or 27.53pts.
On a sectoral basis, the Mining and Oil index wiped its gains yesterday, shedding 1.7% or 373.4pts. The same goes for the Property sector, which declined by 0.84%. The wider All Shares index, on the other hand, slid by just 0.4% or 17.14pts.
Trading, however, remained heavy. Value turnover reached PhP18.24 billion on 2 billion shares traded. There were 52 gainers against 106 losers, while 50 stocks remained flat.
