PH Stocks End Dry Spell
Local shares ended their weak performance Friday, with the main board Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) gaining 0.17% or 6.2 points to close the trading day at 3,737 points, amid easing oil prices. In terms of sectoral growth, the Industrial and the Services indices recovered, posting 0.66% and 0.6% gains, respectively. They join the Mining & Oil and Holding Firms sectors, which continue to buck the trend amid the week-long bloodbath in the stock market.
Trading volume reached 4.3 billion, worth PhP3.8 billion. Fifty-seven stocks gained, while losers totaled 63. Forty-one stocks, meanwhile, remained flat.
