PH Stocks Surge; PSEi Break Past 6500
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks continue their uptrend Wednesday, 5 March, as investors remain upbeat amid strong corporate earnings.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 0.94% or 60.68 points to close the session at 6,516.82. Except for the Mining and Oil and Property sectors, which declined by 0.38% and 0.39%, respectively, all other indices were up, led by the Industrial segment, which posted a 1.24% gain. The Holding Firms index went up by 1.09%, while Financials gained 1%.
Volume turnover reached 5 billion, valued at PhP12.75 billion. There were 86 gainers against 82 losers, while 38 stocks were flat.
