PH Stocks Start Week on Strong Note; PSEi Hits 6,093.9
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks ended the first trading day of the week by inching ever so closer to the 6,100-point mark; with the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closing at 6,093.9 – up 0.7% from Friday. During the course of trading today, the PSEi actually breached 6,100 points – hitting as high as 6,114.44pts at midday, and easing down to end at the above level.
The wider all-shares index is also on the green, closing at 3,837.14 – up by 0.53%. All counters also ended the day higher than the previous trading day, with the Financials index leading the charge with a 1.53% gain. The Property segment followed, gaining 1.48%, while the Mining and Oil sector went up by 0.77%.
About 3.83 billion shares, valued at PhP9.278 billion, changed hands today. There were 94 gainers against 71 losers and 44 flat stocks.
