PH Stocks Set New Record, Breach 6,500
Manila—(PHStocks)—The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) surged to make a new history Wednesday by breaking the 6,500-point mark and closing at 6,527.99, up by 68.06pts or 1.05%, amid continuing confidence in the country’s macroeconomic outlook. Investors seemingly rallied to scoop up potential yields after two successive trading days of what analysts may call “correction”.
All counters were on the green, led by the Property index, which reversed its decline and gained 2.36%. The Financials went up by 1.46%, while the Services sector gained 0.74%. The wider All-Shares index likewise recovered its losses, gaining 28.64pts to close at 4,094.18.
Value turnover reached PhP8.28 billion today on 2.2 billion shares traded. There were 112 gainers against 52 losers, while 50 stocks remained flat.
