PH Stocks Rally, Close Monday 1.27% Higher
All local shares ended the trading day Monday posting gains despite lower trading volume. The main board Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed Valentine’s Day 1.27% or 47.58 points higher, reaching 3,796.73 points.
Among indices, the Mining & Oil sector led the group, posting a 1.47% increase, followed by the Holding Firms market, which posted a 1.35% growth.
Trading volume was only 904 million, valued at PhP3.74 billion. There were 81 advancing stocks against 40 losers, while 34 shares remain unchanged. Liberty Flour Mills Inc. (PSE: LFM) led Monday’s gainers with a 50% growth in its stock price to PhP75.00. F&J Prince Holdings Corp. “A” (PSE: FJP) followed with a 15.69% increase to PhP1.18, while Cyber Bay Corp. (PSE: CYBR) took the third spot with an 11.65% share stock price increase to PhP1.15.
