PH Stocks Fall on Profit Taking

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks fell Monday, 24 February, as investor cashed in on their gains. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up by as much as 64 points in early trade, before plunging down to close today’s session at 6,296 – about 0.19% lower from Friday’s (21/2) close of 6,297.25.

Only the Industrial index gained today, rising by 0.23%. The remaining sectors suffered declines, albeit minimally; the biggest loser, the Property index, only lost 0.36%.

Value turnover reached PhP10.2 billion on 3.6 billion shares traded. There were 82 gainers against 73 losers, while 57 stocks were flat.
