PH Stocks End Bloodshed; PSEi Up 0.41%
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks rebounded as investors hunt for bargain shares after a two-day bloodshed in the market (See here and here). The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) gained 0.41% to close the trading day at 6,072.18. The wider all-shares index also recovered, gaining 0.33% to reach 3,829.47.
On a sectoral basis, all indices except the Financials – the only gainer yesterday – and the Industrials were up. Leading the charge was the Mining and Oil sector which increased by 1.88%, followed by the Property segment, which gained 1%. The Financials index was slightly down by 0.22%, while the Industrials, by 0.31%.
A total of 2.44 billion shares were traded today, with a value turnover of PhP7.32 billion. There were 86 gainers against 77 decliners, while 49 stocks remained flat.
