PH Stocks Down 0.57%
The bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended 0.57% lower on Tuesday, falling slightly below the 3,900-mark at 3,896.31 points. The wider all-shares index suffered the same fate, retreating 0.67% to 2,907.64 points.
On a sectoral indices basis, all counters except the Holding Firms segment posted negative growth, with the Property sector having the biggest decline at 1.67%, followed by the Mining & Oil segment with a 1.43% drop. The Holding Firms sector, on the contrary, gained 0.12%.
Trading volume reached nearly 2.3 billion, valued at PhP5.25 billion, on 16,563 trades. Losers greatly outnumber gainers 102 to 35, while 36 stocks remained flat.
