PH Stocks Back in the Green
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks resumed their growth Tuesday, 5 March, as investors hunted for bargains after two sessions of profit-taking. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) regained its footing at the 6,700 level, closing today’s trading at 6,711.72, up by 1.12% or 74.16pts.
All counters have recovered, led by the Holding Firms sector, which gained 1.45%, followed by the Services index, which edged up by 1.23%. The Property sector, meanwhile, grew by 1.09%, buoyed by gains in SM Development Corporation (PSE: SMDC), Araneta Properties Inc. (PSE: ARA), and Sta. Lucia Land Inc. (PSE: SLI).
Trading was heavy today, with value turnover reaching PhP12.67 billion on 1.98 billion shares traded. There were 84 gainers against 70 decliners, while 56 stocks remained flat.
