Calatagan South Beach Resort Transitions to 100% Renewable Energy with ACEN RES Partnership

Landco Pacific Corporation (Landco), a pioneer in leisure resort development, announced that its flagship Calatagan South Beach (CaSoBe) resort has officially switched to 100% renewable energy through a supply agreement with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity arm of the Ayala group. The move, facilitated under the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), positions CaSoBe as a leader in sustainable tourism in the Philippines.

The GEOP enables eligible consumers with a minimum average monthly demand of 100 kilowatts to select renewable energy suppliers, promoting a transition to clean energy across commercial and industrial establishments. ACEN RES, which currently holds a 57% market share under the program, now powers all of CaSoBe’s operations, from its resort hotels to experiential accommodations like Crusoe Cabins, Apollo Aeropods, and Cupola.

“This transition to 100% renewable energy is a key milestone for CaSoBe and aligns perfectly with our vision of environmentally responsible tourism,” said Erickson Manzano, President and CEO of Landco Pacific Corporation. “Partnering with ACEN RES allows us to offer guests a truly sustainable leisure experience while reducing our carbon footprint.”

In recognition of this initiative, ACEN RES awarded CaSoBe the “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge, a mark of environmental leadership introduced in 2022 to encourage businesses to embrace clean energy. Sheila Mina, Vice President and Head of Account Management at ACEN RES, noted, “CaSoBe sets an example for other leisure destinations, demonstrating how sustainability and operational excellence can go hand in hand.”

The CaSoBe development, managed by Landco Lifestyle Ventures, now joins nearly 100 facilities nationwide recognized for adopting renewable energy, reinforcing Landco’s commitment to wellness, environmental preservation, and sustainable resort living.
