Roxas Holdings Announces Latest Executive Appointments

Makati—(PHStocks)— Roxas Holdings Inc. (PSE: ROX) has announced key appointments in the Group. In a statement, Roxas Holdings President/CEO Renato C. Valencia identified the five recent appointees as Jesselyn B. Panis, VP for Corporate Quality Assurance/Quality Control & Product Brand Equity and SVP – Deputy Head of subsidiary, Roxol Bioenergy Corp.; Carlos C. Bengzon Jr. as VP for Treasury and Chief Risk Officer; Frederick E. Reyes as AVP for Human Resources; Jonathan F. Borja as Senior Manager – Head of Management Information System; and Ret. Lt. Gen. Gaudencio Pangilinan Jr. as Consultant-Security Advisor.

Panis was formerly the General Manager of Wrigley Philippines. A Chemical Engineering graduate of De La Salle University, she also worked as Quality Assurance (QA) Manager and later on, as Assistant Brew Master for San Miguel Corp. (PSE: SMC), based here and in their China-Hong Kong operations.

Bengzon was former Chief Finance Officer of Primary Structures Corp. and of EEI Power Corp. A seasoned Finance professional, he also worked as an AVP for Treasury and was also Manager for Strategic Financial Planning and Capital Budget during his stint in San Miguel Corp. He took up Economics at the De La Salle University and Master’s at the Asian Institute of Management.

Reyes, a graduate of Industrial Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas,  served as former HR Training Consultant of the Group prior to his appointment. He was formerly HR Services Director of Manila Water Co. Inc. (PSE: MWC) during its privatization and expansion stages. He also worked as HR Manager in Globe Telecom and as Training Officer at Vitarich Corp. (PSE: VITA).

Borja was formerly Deputy Head of Roxas Holdings’ Information Technology Group. A graduate of Accountancy at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, he worked for the local insurance industry and later moved to the information technology sector and was assigned to Australia, Malaysia, and Taiwan, and then, the Philippines.

Lt. Gen. Pangilinan (Ret.) was formerly the Commander of the Northern Luzon Command and AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations before he became Director of the Bureau of Correction. As consultant-security adviser, he will provide guidance and advice on the company’s security.

The recent top-caliber appointments forms part of Roxas Holdings’ vision of becoming a world-class leader in sugar cane-based products and services in the Asia Pacific.
