PSE to Host Investment Roadshow in Cebu

The Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. (PSE) will host an investment event in Cebu City on Saturday, September 1, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Sky Hall Seaside Cebu dubbed “Achieving Financial Freedom Through Investments”.

The event will feature a wide range of today’s most relevant topics from the latest product offerings of the PSE, tips on investing in a volatile market, to the proposed rules on initial coin offerings of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Resource persons for the talks will come from the PSE, SEC, and the Cebu roadshow partners of the Exchange namely Abacus Securities Corp., COL Financial Group (PSE: COL), Eagle Equities Inc., First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp., and Unicapital Securities Inc. These stockbrokerage firms and three other trading participants—AB Capital Securities Inc., BPI Securities Corp., and VC Securities Corp.—will also be part of a broker expo which will enable the attendees to open stock market accounts at the event venue.

“The PSE wants to grow the investor base in Visayas through its investment literacy programs.  We hope to widen retail investor participation in the stock market and be able to provide our kababayans with the necessary awareness and understanding of stock market investing so they will not fall prey to investment scams and frauds,” said PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon.

The PSE continues to make investor education accessible to Cebuanos and residents of nearby provinces through its various programs.  A free stock market 101 seminar is held every Tuesday afternoon at the PSE’s office located in Insular Life Cebu Business Center. The PSE Cebu office also accepts requests for company or school seminars. Meantime, the Exchange’s Certified Securities Specialist Course is offered through its partner school, the University of San Carlos Cebu.

Interested participants may register for the Cebu roadshow through the PSE (www.pse.com.ph) and PSE Academy websites. Announcements on upcoming investment literacy programs of the Exchange are also posted on PSE’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts.
