Megawide Partners with Pag-IBIG to Accelerate 4PH Affordable Housing Program
Megawide Construction Corporation (Megawide) and the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF or Pag-IBIG Fund) have signed an Investment and Partnership Agreement to support the government’s expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, aiming to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing nationwide.
Megawide Chairman and CEO Edgar Saavedra described the partnership as strategic, highlighting the company’s technical expertise and capacity to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient housing units with speed and consistency. “The partnership with Pag-IBIG addresses the imbalance between housing demand and supply, allowing us to deliver homes that meet the requirements of the 4PH program efficiently,” Saavedra said.
Pag-IBIG Fund, the country’s largest home financing institution, has been recognized for financing over 57,000 homes this year alone. In July, the agency introduced a subsidized 3% annual interest rate on eligible socialized housing loans for the first five years, supporting the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s Expanded 4PH initiative.
Pag-IBIG Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta emphasized the partnership’s dual benefits: accelerating the delivery of affordable homes while prudently growing members’ savings. “This collaboration enables us to provide meaningful benefits to our members and actively contribute to nation-building,” Acosta said.
Under the agreement, Pag-IBIG will invest in Megawide Dreamrise Residences, a wholly owned subsidiary of Megawide, through a ₱10-billion subscription to Perpetual Preferred Shares, payable in three tranches. The funding will be used to deliver at least 7,000 housing units over the next 2–3 years, with affordable packages accessible to Filipino families.
Megawide’s participation in the 4PH program is part of its long-term roadmap to launch 100,000 housing units, with the first 50,000 already identified across five Cavite locations, including Imus, Dasmariñas, and Bacoor. The company has a proven track record in public infrastructure and nation-building projects, having delivered 10,000 public school classrooms, developed the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, built the new Clark International Airport terminal, and constructed the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
This partnership underscores Megawide’s continued commitment to social impact and sustainable development, aligning corporate expertise with the government’s goal of providing affordable homes to every Filipino.
