Alternergy Launches 28 MWp Balsik Solar Power Plant, Strengthening Renewable Energy Portfolio

Alternergy Holdings Corporation (Alternergy), a leader in renewable energy development, announced the commercial operations of its 28 MWp Balsik Solar Power Plant in Hermosa, Bataan through its subsidiary Solana Solar Alpha, Inc. (SSAI). The plant, now fully commissioned and connected to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), will deliver approximately 45,000 MWh of clean energy annually to industrial and commercial customers, supporting their sustainability goals while avoiding an estimated 31,000 tons of carbon emissions.

Spanning 30 hectares, the Balsik facility features 45,600 bifacial solar modules and six inverter stations, connected via a 300-meter 69kV transmission line to the NGCP Hermosa Substation. This project marks the first of four Alternergy power plants scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2026, expanding the company’s portfolio that already includes 10 solar farms, comprising ground-mounted, rooftop, and solar-plus-battery systems.

“This milestone reinforces Alternergy’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions while supporting the growing demand for renewable power in the Philippines,” said Gerry P. Magbanua, President of Alternergy and Director of SSAI. “With additional projects under the Green Energy Auction 4, including Liberty Floating Solar Phases 1 and 2 and the Kalandagan Solar + Energy Storage System, we are advancing innovative solar and hybrid solutions with a combined capacity of up to 240 MWp.”

Alternergy’s 2026 pipeline also includes projects across its Triple Play portfolio of solar, wind, and hydro technologies, totaling 225 MW. The Balsik plant exemplifies Alternergy’s core expertise in developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy facilities, ensuring a steady flow of clean power and revenue growth for the company.
