EEI Launches TESDA-Accredited Training Academy in Cavite to Strengthen Construction Workforce
EEI Corporation has inaugurated its new EEI Training Academy in Tanza, Cavite, reinforcing its long-term commitment to workforce development and industry excellence. The nearly three-hectare, purpose-built facility was formally opened on February 11, 2026, alongside the awarding of its Certificate of TVET Program Registration, officially recognizing it as a TESDA-accredited Training and Assessment Center.
The establishment of the Academy marks a strategic investment by the construction firm to enhance the technical capabilities and professional competencies of its Filipino workforce. Designed to accommodate up to 500 trainees at a time, the facility delivers comprehensive programs for both craft workers and professional staff, supporting EEI’s goal of delivering projects efficiently, safely, and sustainably in an increasingly complex construction environment.
EEI Training Academy President Jesus Teodoro C. Reyes described the initiative as a cornerstone of the company’s human capital strategy. He emphasized that while EEI has long been recognized for building critical infrastructure, it is equally focused on building a strong foundation for its people—attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to elevate standards across the industry.
Comprehensive Technical and Professional Training
The Academy offers specialized, industry-grade workshops covering key construction disciplines. Civil works programs include carpentry, masonry, tile setting, and rebar installation. Mechanical training spans mechanical fitting, millwright works, storage and pressure vessel tank fitting, as well as structural and steel works.
Additional courses are available in welding technology, electrical and instrumentation systems, rigging, pipe fitting, plumbing, scaffolding, painting, tinsmithing, and heavy equipment operation. The curriculum is designed to align closely with actual job site requirements, ensuring graduates are equipped with practical, competency-based skills.
Beyond technical instruction, the Academy also delivers programs for supervisory and professional development. These include construction and project management, safety certifications, and leadership training. Behavioral and soft skills modules—such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and values formation—are integrated into the learning framework to foster well-rounded professionals.
Reyes underscored the importance of character development within the training model, noting that values formation plays a critical role in promoting workplace harmony, improving performance, and supporting overall employee well-being.
Backed by TESDA Standards
As an accredited center under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Academy operates in accordance with national Training Regulations. This ensures standardized curricula, competency-based assessment methods, qualified trainers, and compliant facilities and equipment. TESDA oversight also guarantees that programs meet national occupational standards and remain responsive to evolving industry needs.
EEI Training Academy Vice President Victor C. Evidente highlighted capacity-building as central to sustaining excellence in construction. He noted that continuous skills enhancement allows the organization to remain adaptive, innovative, and competitive while strengthening resilience for long-term growth.
Purpose-Built Campus for Learning and Development
The Academy features multiple specialized facilities designed to support both technical and academic instruction. The Jaime V. Ongpin Building houses administrative offices and conference rooms, while the two-story Saint Joseph Building contains modern classrooms, lecture halls, a faculty room, and a chapel.
The campus also includes a multi-purpose building, trainee barracks, recreational spaces, a warehouse, and a materials recovery facility—underscoring EEI’s emphasis on both operational efficiency and sustainability.
With the launch of the EEI Training Academy, the company positions itself not only as a builder of infrastructure but also as a developer of skilled professionals capable of meeting the demands of the Philippine construction sector’s next phase of growth.
