Megaworld Introduces Philippines’ First WELL-Registered Residential Development in Palawan Township

Megaworld Corporation is accelerating its expansion in Palawan with the launch of a pioneering wellness-focused residential tower inside its 462-hectare ecotourism estate, Paragua Coastown, in San Vicente. The 14-story Santé Residences Palawan is set to become the country’s first residential property to pursue WELL Residential Certification, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of health-centered living in the Philippines.

Located against a backdrop of forested mountains and overlooking pristine coastal views, Santé Residences Palawan will be Megaworld’s third residential development within the master-planned township. The project is designed in accordance with the globally recognized WELL Building Standard, which measures how buildings support human health and well-being across ten core areas: air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community.

According to Javier Romeo Abustan, head of sales and marketing for Megaworld Palawan, the development represents a new direction in residential design. He emphasized that Santé Residences Palawan is envisioned not just as a home, but as a sanctuary that integrates nature and the science of wellness into everyday living—offering residents a holistic environment in one of the world’s most celebrated island destinations.

Wellness-Centered Design Inspired by Nature

Drawing inspiration from Palawan’s expansive tropical landscape, the building’s façade features angled balcony pods that maximize coastal and mountain views. Every unit includes a private balcony, allowing residents to take in sweeping vistas of Pagdanan Bay, surrounding forests, and the wider township.

The second-level amenity deck will serve as the heart of the wellness experience. Among its key features is the Verve Studio, a modern fitness hub equipped with advanced training equipment. A dedicated Halotherapy Center will provide a salt-infused therapeutic space designed to promote respiratory health and relaxation. For quiet reflection, residents can retreat to the Quiet Lounge, intended as a serene sanctuary for rest and mindfulness.

Outdoor amenities further enhance the health-oriented lifestyle. A Hydro-kinetics Pool will incorporate various hydrotherapy elements to support muscle recovery and circulation, while the Santé Botanique Garden will supply residents with access to fresh, sustainably grown produce. An outdoor meditation space will complement these offerings, reinforcing the project’s emphasis on mental and emotional well-being.

Additional amenities include a function room, co-working space, daycare center, fitness center, game room, infinity lap pool, kiddie pool, outdoor playground, and lounge areas—all supported by WiFi connectivity throughout the amenity deck.

Diverse Residential Options with Smart Living Features

Santé Residences Palawan will house 460 units in a wide range of configurations, from studio units of up to 32.5 square meters to expansive three-bedroom bi-level homes of up to 179.5 square meters. The selection also includes one- and two-bedroom layouts, with bi-level options designed to offer additional space and flexibility.

All residences will be equipped with wireless smart home systems accessible through a dedicated mobile application. Residents will be able to remotely manage lighting and smart appliances across living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom spaces, enhancing convenience and energy efficiency.

Sustainability at the Core

Environmental responsibility is embedded into the project’s design. The building will incorporate low-flow plumbing fixtures to reduce water consumption, occupancy sensors in common areas to conserve electricity, and high energy-efficiency equipment. A rainwater harvesting system and an on-site materials recovery facility will further strengthen sustainability initiatives. Select parking slots will also be EV-ready, supporting the transition to electric mobility.

Megaworld projects sales of approximately ₱6.5 billion from Santé Residences Palawan, with completion targeted in 2031.

Strengthening San Vicente’s Tourism Growth

The launch of Santé Residences Palawan forms part of Megaworld’s broader vision to transform Paragua Coastown into a premier ecotourism destination. Two 11-story hotels—Savoy Hotel Palawan and Paragua Sands Hotel—are currently under construction within the township. Together, they will provide 617 hotel rooms, further strengthening San Vicente’s tourism infrastructure.

With its integrated mix of residential, hospitality, and commercial components—including boutique hotel and shophouse districts—Paragua Coastown is positioned to play a central role in the continued rise of San Vicente as Palawan’s next major tourism hub. The municipality is home to the renowned 15-kilometer Long Beach, the longest white-sand beach in the Philippines, and is increasingly attracting both investors and travelers seeking a more sustainable and immersive island experience.
