ACEN Takes Full Control of India Renewables Platform, Securing Over 1 GW Portfolio and 7 GW Pipeline

ACEN has consolidated its renewable energy platform in India after acquiring full ownership of its joint venture with UPC Renewables, marking a significant step in strengthening its international growth strategy. Through its subsidiary ACEN Renewables International Pte. Ltd. (ACRI), the company now holds 100% ownership of a diversified 1,059 MWdc (819 MWac) portfolio consisting of projects under construction and in advanced development stages across Rajasthan and Karnataka, along with a nearly 7-gigawatt development pipeline nationwide. The transaction positions ACEN for greater operational control and faster execution in one of the world’s most dynamic clean energy markets.

The consolidation reinforces ACEN’s long-term commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition, which is anchored on the country’s ambitious target of 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. India’s renewable sector is backed by consistent government-led tenders, long-term offtake contracts, a stable regulatory environment, and a maturing domestic manufacturing base for solar and wind equipment. These fundamentals, combined with deepening project finance capabilities within India’s banking sector, create a favorable environment for large-scale renewable development and capital recycling.

According to Patrice Clausse, Group Chief Investments Officer and President and CEO of ACEN International, India remains a core pillar of ACEN’s international expansion. Full ownership of the platform allows the company to accelerate project development, optimize its portfolio, and deliver clean and reliable power at scale. The move builds on ACEN’s long-standing partnership with UPC Renewables, which has collaborated with ACEN on renewable projects across Asia-Pacific markets, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, and India. As ACEN assumes full control, the company aims to further scale its footprint while contributing meaningfully to India’s long-term energy security and sustainability goals.
