AC Logistics to Expand Cold Chain Capabilities with Majority Investment in Glacier Megafridge

AC Logistics Holdings Corporation (AC Logistics) has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Glacier Megafridge, Inc. (GMI), a leading provider of cold storage solutions in the Philippines, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. The transaction marks a significant step in AC Logistics’ ongoing transformation into a fully integrated logistics solutions provider, with cold chain services as a key growth pillar.

The agreement builds on the two companies’ established collaboration through GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corporation, their joint venture that operates a cold storage facility in Cagayan de Oro and is currently expanding operations in Davao. By bringing GMI into its broader network, AC Logistics aims to enhance nationwide coverage, strengthen service reliability, and deliver more seamless end-to-end logistics solutions to customers across critical industries.

“This agreement is a deliberate step in our transformation journey,” said Erry Hardianto, President and CEO of AC Logistics. “GMI will integrate into our growing network of logistics nodes, enabling us to better serve our customers while expanding our capabilities in high-impact sectors. Our focus remains on continuously evolving to meet customer needs and deliver greater value.”

Founded in 2005, GMI has built a strong reputation by combining advanced Japanese refrigeration technology with local expertise to provide efficient and dependable cold storage services. Today, the company operates 12 facilities nationwide, with an estimated capacity of 75,000 pallet positions, supporting food safety, security, and supply chain resilience across key regions of the country.

“Partnering with AC Logistics opens new opportunities as we continue to scale and innovate,” said Archie Yan, CEO of GMI. “Together, we can help address the growing demand for reliable cold chain solutions, reduce inefficiencies in the supply chain, and contribute meaningfully to food security and economic growth.”

Once finalized, the acquisition is expected to provide AC Logistics with a strong platform to develop integrated cold chain services that address supply-demand gaps and help reduce agricultural spoilage rates, which studies estimate to be as high as 40 to 50 percent in the Philippines. By strengthening its presence in this vital sector, AC Logistics reinforces its commitment to building resilient, customer-focused logistics solutions that support long-term national development.
