Slight Dip in PH Stocks

Local shares at the main board Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended a tad lower Tuesday, dropping at a slight 0.04% to 3,878.48 points. Nevertheless, all indices except the Holding Firms sector grew, led by the Mining & Oil sector, which gained 0.67%. Trading volume reached 1.736 billion shares, valued at about PhP3.647 billion. Gainers outnumber losers 64 to 59, while 49 stocks remain unchanged.

Leading the gainers is Philippine Seven Corp. (PSE: SEVN), which posted a 36.75% increase in share price to PhP22.70. Cebu Property Venture & Development “A” (PSE: CPV) grew its share price by 13.75% to PhP1.82, while DFNN Inc. (PSE: DFNN) ended the trading day with a 9.79% share price increase to PhP9.20. Other gaining stocks include media company Manila Bulletin Pub. Corp. (PSE: MB), Mabuhay Vinyl Corp. (PSE: MVC), Megaworld Corp. WARRANTS1 (PSE: MEGW1), Solid Group Inc. (PSE: SGI), SPC Power Corp. (PSE: SPC), Makati Finance Corp. (PSE: MFIN), and Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co.’s “B” shares (PSE: LCB).
