PSEi Clings to 6400 Level amid Selloff

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks were down for the second session Thursday, 20 March, as investors lock in their profits.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped further by 0.7% or 45.14 points to close today’s trading at 6,417.35, keeping its foothold at the 6400 level. This, following a 4-point decline yesterday.

All counters – except for the Services index, which gained 0.61% – were down, led by the Holding Firms sector, which fell by 1.51%. The Industrials shed 0.98% while the wider All Shares index lost 0.89%.

Value turnover reached PhP7.12 billion on 891 million shares traded. There were 46 gainers against 107 losers, while 51 stocks were flat.
