PH Stocks Sustain Uptrend

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks extended their growth Tuesday, 22 April, on continued investor optimism and following a market rally in Wall Street.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) hit an intra-day high of 6,815.26 points, before closing the trading day at 6,784.95, up by 0.26% or 17.44 points. The Holding Firms segment led the gainers, posting a 0.71% gain. Meanwhile, after its recent gains, the Property segment saw investor selloff, but very minimal; the index closed 0.05% or just 1.3 points lower.

Value turnover reached PhP10.36 billion, with volume reaching 1 billion shares. Foreign buying reached Php7.05 billion while foreign selling was PhP4.37 billion. There were 107 gainers against 77 losers, while 33 stocks were flat.
