PH Stocks Surge on Upbeat Market Sentiment

Manila—(PHStocks)—The Philippine stock market was up for the fourth session, tracking regional markets on strong factory data in the United States.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up by 1.12% or 73 points to close the week at 6,587.72. All counters are in the green, led by the Property sector, which gained 2.19%. The Holding Firms index edged higher by 1.17% while the Industrial rose by 1.12%.

Trading was heavy, with value turnover reaching PhP11.4 billion on 1.176 billion shares traded. Foreign buying reached PhP6.09 billion while foreign selling was PhP4.68 billion. There were 103 gainers against 61 losers, while 40 stocks were flat.
