PH Stocks Retreat on Profit Taking

Manila—(PHStocks)—After a four-day rally, Philippine stocks pulled back on profit taking Wednesday, 23 April.

The mainboard Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went down by 0.23% or 15.43 points to close today’s trading day at 6,769.52.

Most counters have declined, but only minimally: Services (-0.6%); Financials (-0.59%); Industrial (0.08%); and Property (0.01%); while the Mining and Oil sector gained 0.04% and the Holding Firms index, 0.24%. The wider All Shares index shed just 0.07% or 2.7 points.

Value turnover reached PhP7.1 billion on volume of 3 billion shares. Foreign buying reached PhP4.15 billion while foreign selling reached PhP3.35 billion. There were 98 gainers against 86 losers while 36 stocks were flat.
