PH Stocks Remain Depressed

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks extend their declines Tuesday, 28 January, as investors stay in the sidelines ahead of a key US Federal Reserve meeting.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) dropped further by 0.97% or 58.8 points to close today’s trading at 6,022.81, maintaining its foothold at the 6,000 level.

The declines, however, were slowing. While, all counters remained in the red, the biggest drops were just 1.19% (Mining and Oil) and 1.16% (Holding Firms). The wider All Shares index slid just by 0.62%.

Trading was moderate. Value turnover reached PhP5.7 billion on 1.78 billion traded shares. There were 52 gainers against 102 losers, while 40 stocks were flat.
