PH Stocks Extend Gains for Fifth Session

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks continued their rally for the fifth straight session.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) withstood the profit-taking through most of the morning session, before pulling in gains late into the day’s trading to end 0.23% higher to 6,019.24.

The Mining and Oil index gained 2.75% further, while the Services sector went up by 1.16%. The Holding Firms (-0.51%) and the Property (-0.36%) sectors were the only sectors that declined. The wider All-Shares index was flat.

Value turnover reached PhP4.27 billion on 2.01 billion traded shares. Foreign buying reached PhP2.78 billion while foreign selling totaled PhP2.54 billion. There were 85 gainers against 72 losers, while 39 stocks remained flat.
