PH Stocks Extend Gains

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks ended the week, and the first trading day of May, on a positive note.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) further gained 0.52% or 35.06 points to close the session at 6,742.97. All counters end in the green, led by the Mining & Oil index, which jumped by 2.27%. The wider All Shares index rose by 0.44%.

Value turnover reached PhP6.5 billion on 1.6 billion shares traded. Foreign buying was PhP3.98 billion and foreign selling reached PhP3.25 billion. There were 112 gainers against 64 losers, while 37 stocks were flat.
