PH Stocks Extend Declines

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks fell on profit taking Friday, 20 December, extending the decline for the second straight day. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) lost nearly 1.5% or 88 points to close this week’s trading at 5,835.13.

All counters were back in the red, with the Property index shedding as much as 1.81%. The Industrial segment was the second biggest declining sector, dropping by 1.6%, followed by the Financials, which slid by 1.41%. The wider All-Shares index decreased by 1.22%.

Trading was moderate, with value turnover reaching PhP7.6 billion on 1.11 billion shares traded. There were 51 gainers against 91 losers, while 42 stocks were flat.
