PH Stocks Break Past 6,400pts
Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks continued their rally on Monday, breaking past the 6,400-point mark and posting the highest finish so far in the history of the local bourse. The mainboard Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed today’s trading at 6,435.980, up 1.86% from Friday, as investors continue to go heavily into equities on the back of bullish forecasts for the country this year.
In fact, trading volume reached 3.13 billion, with a turnover value of PhP11.18 billion. There are 130 gainers today against 50 decliners, while 35 stocks remained flat.
The wider All-Shares index continued its growth, gaining 1.61% from last week’s close. All counters were also on the green, led by the Holding Firms segment, which surged by 2.57%. The Services sector came in at second, with a gain of 1.81%, while the Mining and Oil’s 1.73% growth puts it at third.
