MPIC Completes Investment in CLDH in Tarlac

Manila—(PHStocks)—Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (PSE: MPI) has finalized its acquisition of a 51% equity stake in Central Luzon Doctors’ Hospital (CLDH) in Tarlac City, completing a deal signed in June 2013.

CLDH also appointed a new President & CEO, Dr. Ferdinand Francis Cid, effective 1 October 2013. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Cid was the Dean of the San Beda College of Medicine and has had varied experience running a number of metro manila and provincial hospitals. He obtained his degree in medicine from the University of the Philippines, and took his MBA (Summa Cum Laude) from the San Beda Graduate School of Business.

With the entry of MPIC , CLDH will commence the construction of a new four-storey building which, by completion in early 2015, will house the most advanced diagnostic imaging center in the province with initially a 64-slice CT scan and digital x-ray machines, and eventually a 1.5 Tesla MRI and a digital mammography machine. The building will also feature the best operating room and delivery room complex, a complete Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a modern ICU. The upper floor will provide much needed additional private hospital rooms, in standards never before seen in the city and province.

CLDH is MPIC’s 8th hospital in its growing nationwide chain of private hospitals of now 2,137 beds.
