EDC Issued COE for FIT Eligibility for 150MW Burgos Wind Project

Pasig—(PHStocks)—EDC Burgos Wind Power Corp. (EBWPC), an affiliate of Energy Development Corp. (PSE: EDC), received the Department of Energy’s Certificate of Endorsement (COE) for FIT Eligibility under docket number COE-FITNo.W-2014-11-002 endorsing the 150MW Burgos Wind Power Project (Phase 1 – 87MW and Phase 2 – 63MW) for the purpose of qualifying the project under the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) System.

The COE for FiT Eligibility was issued by the DOE after validation of the project’s successful commissioning as reported on 5 November 2014 in accordance with Department Circular No. DC 2013-05-0009, otherwise known as the Guidelines for the Selection Process of Renewable Energy Projects Under Feed-In Tariff System and the Award of Certificate for Feed-In Tariff Eligibility.

The 150MW Burgos Wind Project consists of 50 units of the Vestas V90 wind turbine generators (WTG), which has a rated capacity of 3MW. It could generate about 368GWh every year, avoiding an estimated 200,000 tons of carbon emissions annually.
