DOTC to Ban Overbooking During Peak Seasons

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is set to ban airlines from overbooking during peak seasons starting the fourth quarter of the year as the government tightens rules on flight delays and cancellations amid the rising number of complaints.

DOTC spokesperson Michael Arthur Sagcal said the agency is working closely with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to improve certain provisions of the Air Passenger Bill of Rights (APBR).
