BSP Sets Money Talk Between Filipino and Russian Students for Global Money Week

Manila—(PHStocks)—Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)—The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) led this year’s celebration of Global Money Week (GMW) with students of San Ildefonso Elementary School, Bulacan, who had a lively video conference with Russian students on creative ways to save and earn money while learning about each other’s savings habits, money managing skills and culture.

Global Money Week is a worldwide activity organized by Netherlands-based NGO Child Youth Finance International (CYFI), which is at the forefront of the global movement to promote saving among children and youth. This complements the financial education program of the BSP and the Department of Education to equip the youth with the life skills to save and manage their own finances.

The video conference was supervised by BSP Deputy Director Rogelio Garcia and Lucille Villacorte, teacher and awardee of the BSP’s 2014 GURO ng PAG-ASA (Gantimpala para sa Ulirang PagtutuRO ng PAG-iimpok at Araling PanSAlapi).
