BSP Governor Diokno Unveils Marker for Historic Fort Abad

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin E. Diokno (center) led the unveiling of a marker at the historic Fort San Antonio Abad located within the BSP Complex in Manila. 

The stronghold, which was built in 1584 to guard the main approach to Manila from the south and was an integral part of the defense of the city, was recognized as a “National Cultural Treasure” by the National Museum. The fortress was restored in the 1970s and subsequently maintained by the BSP.
