Bloodbath Continues; PSEi Falls Back to 6,600

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks opened the trading week on a negative note amid weak performance in the U.S. market.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell by a further 1.21% or 80.75 points to close today’s trading at 6,604.35. The Services segment continued its growth, weathering the selloff to close 0.29% higher today. The remaining indices were in the red, led by the Property sector, which lost 2.58%. The wider All Shares index went down by 1.09%.

Value turnover reached PhP7.47 billion on 1.28 billion traded shares. Foreign buying reached PhP4.11 billion and foreign selling, PhP3.18 billion. There were 54 gainers against 127 losers, while 37 stocks remained flat.
