AIS Enters Settles Tower Dispute with CAT, Enters Tower Service Agreement

Advanced Info Service Public Co. Ltd (AIS) has entered into the tower dispute settlement and tower service agreement with CAT Telecom Public Co. Ltd (CAT) for the long term use of telecommunication towers with key terms as follow.

CAT and AIS and its subsidiaries agree to settle the disputes on telecommunication towers between CAT and Digital Phone Co. Ltd (DPC), the AIS’s subsidiaries. The settlement consists of dispute no. 49/2557, 57/2559, 76/2561 which have been under the arbitration process and the dispute no. 1680/2561, 1681/2561 under the Civil Court, in total legal claim of THB860 million (excluded default interest and other damage claim). Such disputes are disclosed in Annual Registration Statements (Form 56-1) and notes to financial statements. The settlement resulted in the ownership of 155 telecommunication towers under dispute belongs to CAT.

Advanced Wireless Network Co. Ltd (AWN), AIS’s subsidiaries, agrees to rent telecommunication towers from CAT while CAT agrees to use the space and maintenance service form AWN for 5 years starting from July 1, 2020 to September 15, 2025 in a net total value of THB186 million inclusive of the expense for dispute settlement and other compensation.
