PH Stocks Firming Up

Manila—(PHStocks)—Philippine stocks were up for the third session Tuesday, 18 February, as the market gets closer to the earnings reports season.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up 0.42% or 26 points to close today’s trading at 6,193.97 amid investor optimism of corporate earnings results.

The Property index led all gainers, rising by 1.24%, followed by the Mining and Oil sector, which gained 0.7%. The Services index, however, went down by 0.59%. The wider All Shares index rose by 0.28%.

Value turnover reached PhP5.98 billion on 2.6 billion shares traded. There were 89 gainers against 73 losers, while 33 stocks remained flat.
