Steady Growth for PH Stocks

The 3,900-point mark is getting closer and closer, as local shares continue gaining fueled by increasing investor confidence. The main board Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed at 3,898.87 points, up 0.32% or 12.39 points, while the wider all-shares index gained 0.05% to end Tuesday at 2,925.63 points.

The Holding Firms and Mining & Oil indices gained 1% apiece, while the Property sector went up 0.65%.

Trading volume reached 1.49 billion, valued at nearly PhP5.38 billion, on 11,639 trades. Losers, however, outnumber gainers 78 to 46, while 45 stocks remained flat.

Leading gainers for the day are as follows:

  3. Semirara Mining Corp. (PSE: SCC): PhP214.20, +5.1% 
  4. DMCI Holdings Inc. (PSE: DMC): PhP37.20, +4.79% 
  5. ABS-CBN Corp. (PSE: ABS): PhP44.75, +4.07% 
  6. Marcventures Holdings Inc. (PSE: MARC): PhP2.06, +4.04% 
  7. IP E-Game Ventures Inc. (PSE: EG): PhP13.00, +4% 
  8. GEOGRACE Resources Philippines Inc. (PSE: GEO): PhP0.57, +3.64% 
  9. MacroAsia Corp. (PSE: MAC): PhP3.15, +3.28% 
  10. SM Investments Corp. (PSE: SM): PhP509.50, +2.72%
